Dressing up for Hogwarts

If you’re a potterhead, I’m hoping you got what I was trying here with these outfit choices.

A lot of people get annoyed when I talk about Harry Potter on my blog, instagram or just about anywhere and I’ve heard a lot of ‘move on’ comments. I’m not sure if I’ve spoken about this a few years ago because I feel like I’ve been writing here forever and probably have addressed this but I’m going to do it again. The reason I can possibly never move on from Harry Potter is because it wasn’t just a book to me. Some books just become a part of your life and Harry Potter has been one of those books. It might seem immature and silly to some but it’s been a journey for me. I remember that I first started reading Harry Potter thanks to my cousin who was one those people to line up at stores and buy the book the day it released. I borrowed her book and read it the first time and now I can never own enough copies. I remember being glued to my Harry Potter books during lunch breaks in school and on the way back home in the van and it was almost like a safety blanket. I could write posts on what J.K Rowling created and how Harry Potter will always mean a lot to me but I’ll save that for another special day. Putting these outfits together with Shikha (who was so patient with the camera) was so much fun because it gave us a chance to relive the Harry Potter magic and to feel like we were a part of Hogwarts, again.

I’m that person who walks into stores and gets annoyed when there’s a wide range of phone cases to choose from only for users of certain phones (you know what I’m talking about). When I got an email about Cover It Up , I was so excited because they had phone cases for almost all phones in the market. After days of adding things to my cart, I finally narrowed it down to two cases that I couldn’t imagine not having. One had to be a Harry Potter theme case! The other is something really special and you’ll see it soon. I wanted to style this case a little differently so I did a Harry Potter theme and I had so much fun digging the colours from my wardrobe. I’ve been carrying the Harry Potter case around for a while and I’ve surely got a lot of questions about where it is from. Apart from being a really sturdy case, it’s a great conversation starter (especially if you’re a potterhead and are always on the lookout for fellow potterheads)

Planet Fashion Turns 15!

Planet Fashion turned 15 yesterday and it was a grand celebration as they showcased their AW 2015 collection. Launched in 2001 as a menswear showroom, they’ve come a long way and become the go-to place for menswear.

I love the different themes and collections that they’ve put together to seamlessly take you through everyday. The AW show showcased four different collections to preview some of the other ones they have in store this season. From The Suit Collective that has a range of the classic tuxedos and bandhgalas to my favourite All Whites, the collection also included the crowd favourite comfortable Wrinkle Frees that are non iron shirts especially for those late mornings or impromptu meetings. There were also a party wear range with some very interesting jackets and shirts. Though the collection tries some new hues and prints, I particularly enjoyed the classic pieces - the khakhi trousers and the crisp white shirts. The celebration at The Black Rabbit, Indiranagar saw Santosh CS, a rally biker and Behram Siganporia, lead of the band One Night Stand sporting and supporting the collection.

With the festive season around the corner, now is the best time to head to Louis Philippe, Van Heusen and Allen Solly to get your hands on the new range designed for a smooth transition through different occasions from fun outings to formal meetings.

Don’t forget to send me pictures if you do visit their stores and pick out outfits.

See you soon.
