Extremely Cheesy, beware!

Disclaimer: This post is going to as cheesy as cheesy can get.

It’s that time of the year again when everyone gets nostalgic and celebratory. It’s that time of the year when people realize how fast time has passed. It’s that time of the year when everyone wants to do something amazing in those last few hours. It’s that time of the year when shops go on sale and patisseries run out of batter. But for me, its just that time of the year when I want to write.

This might sound awfully cheesy, but bear with me.

Ive not been the best blogger this year, in fact Ive been pretty horrible at balancing out the blog with everything else thats on my plate. But theres not a moment when I dont think of the blog and ideas for posts. Im not going to say Ill be a better blogger next year because the work load just keeps increasing, but Ill definitely stick around. Im not going to abandon the blog just because there are bigger things because this is where I truly started and theres nothing more that means as much to me. And I have a thing for beginnings. So first, I want to thank youll for sticking around waiting and being ever so patient with my irregular blog posts.

“We'll be there, Harry," said Ron
"At your Aunt and Uncle's house," said Ron, "And then we'll go with you wherever you're going."
"No-" said Harry quickly; he hadn't counted on this, he had meant them to understand that he was undertaking the most dangerous journey alone.
"You said it once before," said Hermione quickly, "that there was time to turn back if we wanted to. We've had time, haven't we? We're with you whatever happens.”

Those lines are some of the most beautiful ones in Harry Potter and on that note, I want to say how grateful I am to have found some beautiful people to make new memories with. We had endless sleepovers, crashed at each others places uninvited, shared deep dark secrets, yelled, argued, fought, worked, bitched, died laughing like seals, hogged like pigs and used photo booth to a hazardous extent. We shared clothes, stories and bathrooms. We shared stories, we shared music. We made memories. Youll have been there with me through the rough moments and the happy ones, through the scary presentations, through the moments of awesomeness.

Thank you ‘My Person’ for being my person, for making me smile, talking till 4 am, sharing endless inside jokes, loving the same books, writing and making future plans. Thanks for being that person who  tells me when I’m wrong and sends me pre birthday gifts. Thanks for being that person who loves my couch more than me and lands outside my door when I’m down. Thanks for being that person who knows exactly what I’m thinking when I’m thinking it. Thanks for living in my head. Thanks for making me so much more beautiful.

Thank you ‘Pingu’ for not judging. Thank you for those spiral pants moments. Thank you for telling me to go, when no one else did. Those twitter twinning moments and funny Facebook conversations. Thank you for carrying extra luggage and making me feel normal. Thank you for freaking out with me. Thank you for listening when I needed. Thank you for telling me when I’m creepy.
I love you to the moon and back pinguuu.

Thank you ‘Appu-mon’ for those beautiful posters as an unexpected Christmas present. Thank you for being like me in so many ways. Thank you for being with me when I needed you (youknowwhati’mreferringto), thank you for singing Hey Jude with me like a mad person. Thank you for being an equally excited elf. Thank you for making me look not so mad sometimes, because you’re madder.
Iloveyou :’)

Thank you my person’, ‘pingu’ and ‘appu-mon’ for existing and making my life a beautiful place.

Thank you T for those music talks, Youtube fangirl sessions and 4 am chats.

Thank you S, for believing in me even when I didn’t and giving me some amazing moments to relish.

Thank you A and F for being horrible and intolerably mean and making me a stronger person. You made me realize that I can be made of steel (told you I was going to be cheesy) when I wanted to. Thank you for being such asses.

Thank you FS, LK, DH, MS for seeing something special in me. Thank you for all that you did.

Thank you brother for those fights, those hugs and those understanding nods. Thank you for getting my incoherence and sometimes being the reason for it. I will love you forever more. You know that.

And I cannot end a post like this without thanking someone who has been the target of my mood swings, rants and food cravings. Thank you ma, for making this year so much better with your ever so amazing food and ever so lovely smile. Thanks for listening to my rants, thanks for not telling me what to do and letting me find my way, thanks for giving me the chance to make the mistakes I want to and thanks for everything else I could say but won’t on this post.

Thanks are not only meant for people who make you happy, but also people who make you sad. Thanks are meant for people who teach you, live with you and make you who you are. So finally, I’d like to thank all those people who were their worst to me, because they only showed me how strong I could be and that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. And thanks to everyone who has been there at the end of the tunnel to give me a new journey.

Because the journey never really ends.

See you in 2014.

Winter Lookbook

Cannot begin to tell you how much I love December. Every year I talk about my love for the month because of the brilliant weather and amazing outfits I get to put together. Especially in Bangalore, the weather is a perfect blend of cold yet not icicle cold. So this year I thought it would be fun to do a look book! And hence the Winter Lookbook came into action. Ive been working on this for a while and one fine Sunday I decided to finally shoot and get it together. Thanks to mum and the tripod for the video.

Many of you emailed me asking about college and some tips on styling casual looks so I’ve tried to include those in the look book too. Coming to college, it’s going pretty well as I’ve been enjoying our writing classes and Literature classes. Been doing some fun work and of course watching movies and wandering around Bangalore.

In other news, the year is coming to an end and memories are flooding as I look back at the beautiful year it has been. Made some great memories and collected them safely. Also, I plan to end the year with a book marathon.

Winters are all about dark colours and layering, but for some of us who don’t face harsh winters or harsh summers, we don’t have wardrobe changes. What to do? Play with what you have! Be it crop tops of cargos, anything can be worn anytime if done right. I’ve tried to do such looks because that’s how I usually map out my outfits. If you notice, I love my chunky shoes and boots.

Also, if the video quality is sucky, please excuse me because vimeo refuses to let me upload it in HD. Boo.

Oh, watched Catching Fire and loved it. I’ve read ‘The Hunger Games’ and am not a fan of the books but absolutely enjoyed the movie. Well executed and shot I must say. And since I haven’t read Mockingjay, that was the best cliffhanger ever.

Lately I’ve been watching a lot of movies so tell me if you saw something recently that you liked.

How has December been treating you?

Aviraté - Miss France Collection

On 27th November, 2013, Aviraté launched their Miss France collection at UB City. Over hors doeuvre and vibrant colours, I couldnt help but notice the prints, colour blocking, lace and details on the pieces.

The collection houses maxis and dressy tops in hues of green, blue, black and white. Of course its hard to miss the saturated tones and chiffon fabrics. Must also mention the shoes which caught my attention. From animal prints to solid colours, the shoes stacked up the racks and make me want to go back and buy them.

Here’s a glimpse if you couldn’t be there.

Some of the pieces in the collection caught my eye for the simplicity and nice use of colours, however some of them were too bright for my liking. But I’d definitely prompt you to check it out for yourself!

A little about Aviraté: Aviraté is an International High Street Fashion Brand for women, designed in U.K. Inspired by the catwalks of London, Paris and Milan. Aviraté offers over 300 styles of Dresses, ranging from 2 to 16 (US Size).

Unicorn at the Beach

It’s that time of the year again.

Sweaters ready to be worn. Chilly winter nights loom. Blankets piled. Hot chocolate galore. Of course, goes without saying that I become nostalgic about the year that has passed. The month itself seems like a package of recollection of memories. I make more memories to shut the box of 2013. But before I ramble about retrospections, let’s jump to the pictures.

This one has long been due. Remember I told you I was on vacation? Well, I went to Pondicherry with mes amis. Oh, what can I say? Waffles for breakfast, walks to the beach, late nights, relaxed mornings, gossip, pizza, auto journeys and what not. A wonderful break from reality is just what we all needed. Of course I managed to bug Pingu aka Bobblez aka Sneha (she willingly offered to take pictures for me, isn’t she the best?) to take pictures for the blog.

This outfit has been on my mind for quite sometime. Except, it’ll just get unwanted attention if I wore it on the streets of Bangalore. What better time than on a vacation to experiment with fashion turbans? Electric blue fashion turban, black and white maxi and my shades by the beach. Of course I’m going to attempt to skip the part where people on the road were fascinated by the unicorn like ‘entity’ on my head (One of them even took a picture of it), after which I have been fondly titled unicorn. See for yourself.

Oh let me just go back?

If you didn’t know, I love Pondicherry. It was my second time being there and I’m sure I’ll go again. Because it’s a beautiful place.

But there was nothing like seeing the traffic in Bangalore as our bus reached. I felt more home. I felt this inexplainable joy because I heard people speak in Kannada and saw the streets look like a million fireflies in march past. Well, we all love our city, don’t we?
